it was not working for us tonight...

picture taking was not in the books for tonight. can't say we didn't try though!

finally....FALL!

aaaahhhhh...fall is here...tonight we worked outside. daddy and charly powerwashed the house...


then charly decided she was thirsty and wanted to drink some water... off the ground!



so daddy had to tell her that we don't drink water from the ground.



she got bored helping and decided to run up the hill...



run down the hill...



roll down the hill...



then pout about it when mommy didn't want her to do that anymore.



so we took a break in the wagon and decided to get a real drink.

koppen craft day...

after our errands this morning we came home and my mommy decided to craft a little. she made me these really pretty head bands while i was taking a nap. I think she is out of control now and is going to make me tons more...too bad i only like to wear them for about 15 seconds...either she'll learn not to waste her time, or i will learn to just suck it up and wear them...that or i won't nap again! :)

friday night...

playing with daddy. aunt amanda gave charly this toy months ago and now she is interested in it. :)

time changes EVERYTHING

we were those people...the ones that talk about how other people raise their kids. we would talk about how we would be perfect at it. how we would never buy video games and use the tv as a babysitter. how our kids would always play outside like we did growing up and not sit inside on the computer. how we would never make a habit out of eating fast food and of course we would never have a tv in our vehicle... no, our kids would play games like "slug bug", "i spy" or look for license plates from other states. (yeah, that was fun to do during a road trip) Well, we have gone to the other side... we have sold our souls... we are those people... the ones we use to talk about. Not only did we go through the McDonalds drive thru today...twice (the first was for coffee....does that count?) but we also hooked up the dvd player and listened to DORA and DIEGO the entire way to Iowa. Wow how things have changed in a matter of 17 months. So, today I snapped this picture of a mom and her child on a road trip. Probably a short one, as it appears they are headed back from the store, but non the less... a road trip. Then I immediately turned around and snapped a picture of my child on her road trip...watching Dora. What a difference!

i am lacking in some photo creativity...i haven't had time to pick up my camera since friday. we spent the evening cleaning out closets and came across one of grandma hovey's music boxes and charly was fascinated with it. she wouldn't even look up at the camera with her normal cheesy grin. so this is as good as it gets for tonight.

any reason for cake!

Happy Birthday to Amanda! we drove down to have dinner and cake with her. we met her roommate and toured her apartment and especially loved playing with her kitties.

When it rains....

...we head outside to play! after dinner we RAN outside to play in the puddles as it was still raining! SO. MUCH. FUN. Then came in, cleaned up and played in the tunnel before we went to sleep! boy life is so much fun.
