funny sounds

she finds it funny when water (or her fingers) are in her ears and i say something. it must be the muffled sound she hears that just cracks her up!

just a side note: she absolutely loves laying in the bath now. it is hillarious. not sure why, but for the past week she has been getting up the courage to do it herself, and tonight she laid down in the bath on her back by herself. sometimes the little things are big accomplishments to her! :)

also... does this look like a sick kid to you? she acts fine, but her bodily functions are all jacked up! hopefully tonight and tomorrow are much better!

funny how the day goes...

wednesday started out great... in fact i dressed charly in a really cute outfit and we had a great morning. everything went well until i got home. i walked in the door to find charly and her daddy playing with stickers, which isn't the problem, in fact i thought it was pretty cute, so i took a couple pictures right away. the problem was, that when i saw charly, i immediately noticed she was in the spare outfit i pack in her bag for daycare. now, this can only mean one thing... DIAPER BLOWOUT! i say that it can only mean one thing because i have been taking charly to daycare and she NEVER comes home with food on her clothes (which i have asked her babysitter before how she keeps her so clean, that for another story maybe)... so after seeing her and noticing that she had some tummy trauma blow out at the babysitters, my first question to her daddy was, "how did things go at daycare", and i cringed when he said "3 big nasty poops". Well, i thought to myself, thank goodness i didn't have to deal with them, and hoped tomorrow would be a better day for her little hiney.



fast forward to about 630pm and approximately 2 minutes before we put her in the bath. i mean, the bath water was already running. andrew smelled something, went to take a peak, and yelled for me to come help him. i being the hero when it comes to poop or puke in the house, told andrew i would handle it. i told him to grab a towel (which is weird because i have never done that and i had no idea what i was about to experience) and bring it into her room. i laid it down, she laid on top of it and a gush (seriously) a GUSH of poopy water comes pouring out the top as she lid down... ok, i will spare you the details, but seriously... when andrew and i have to tag team a diaper change, it is actually quite comical!

ok, now fast forward a few more hours to 1030, when i am getting cozy in bed and all of a sudden i hear "momma...momma..." along with crying sounds. normally i ignore them for a few minutes to see if she will settle back down and go back to sleep, but something told me to go immediately. i walked out of my room and into her room, where i was hit with the smell! THE SMELL!!! i didn't even have to turn the lights on, as i knew by the smell AND the wetness that i felt on my bare foot when i stood beside her crib. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! (i will spare you those details too, just know it was bad, and... yes... BEAR had a horrible night)

this is going to be a long night...

how is it, that my child can be sick... and i am talking pukey, poopy, pale faced sick, but mere hours before running around the house having a great time! i wish i saw the warning signs, i wish i knew what was coming...

i would at least take a nap to prepare myself for the long nights ahead!

keeping her busy...

what i learned tonight:
when i am trying to cook dinner without a 20 month old on my leg (and I don't have help), I reach for an empty egg carton! This kept her busy for a good 30 minutes. The only problem (and I can deal with it), is the mess that it creates!

this seems to be lots of fun to her right now.... but a big pain for me! i hate cleaning windows!!!

happy 2011...

charly has been under the weather today... but still wants to wish everyone a happy 2011. her new years resolution this year is to master the art of potty training! we're hoping for a successful summer of 2011. :) oh... and to stay healthy... because this sick stuff stinks! :(

new years eve and it is 60 degrees...

so we enjoyed it. we spent time playing at the mall while it rained in the morning and then spent time outside in the afternoon while it was BEAUTIFUL! then we made dinner and headed to Laurie, MO to see the light park and back home to bring in the new year.
